Alcohol Health Alliance: Policy and Advocacy Manager (closes 23rd Feb!)
The Alcohol Health Alliance (AHA) is seeking a Policy and Advocacy Manager. Based in the Institute of Alcohol Studies (IAS) offices in Westminster and reporting to the IAS Head of Policy, the role will undertake campaigning and policy activities for the AHA to support their campaigning objectives around alcohol harm reduction. The role will be responsible for enquiries, briefings and identify opportunities to influence policy development and legislation, promoting the recommendations from the AHA’s alcohol strategy Health First. Alcohol industry, Policy and Science (TRAPS) research programme, York University
Applications are open for Research Fellow (Social Sciences) positions to work on the Alcohol industry, Policy and Science (TRAPS) research programme, led by Professor Jim McCambridge at the University of York. The programme aims to develop our understanding of how alcohol industry actors influence science, the science/policy interface, and policy making, and to examine the implications for public policies. Sheffield Alcohol Researh Group oppportunities
Several research opportunties with the Sheffield Alcohol Research Group at University of Sheffield are currently open including advertising two jobs and one fully-funded PhD. A fully-funded PhD exploring 'Drinking events – what are the best ways to collect data on how people drink? has a proposed start date of September 2018. A research position on Health economic modelling of tobacco and alcohol tax closes 2nd March and a Part-time (0.8 FTE) Public Health Research Associate closes on 12 March.
Portman group seeks public health and licensing complaints panel members
The Portman Group, the alcohol industry funded body which has responsibility for regulating the promotion and packaging of alcohol, is seeking new Independent Complaints Panel members with expertise in public health and legal knowledge and/or a licensing background.
