Alcohol Research UK conference and early career symposium
Alcohol Research UK's 2016 Annual Conference will take place on Wednesday, 16 March 2016 in Birmingham, exploring new evidence on patterns of alcohol use across the UK, alcohol risks and harm, developing interventions, and reflections on the relationship between alcohol research and evidence-informed policy.
Themes to be discussed at this year’s conference include:
- Calculating risk – how do we better measure the relationship between alcohol consumption and a range of potential harms?
- Measuring consumption – how can we better understand patterns of consumption across society?
- Policy impacts – how can we test the impact of research on alcohol policy, and alcohol policies on consumption and harm?
- Treatment and prevention – how can research help us measure the effects of interventions on problem drinkers?
The current version of the Annual Conference programme is available here [pdf]. An early bird rate is available up to 1 February 2016 via the Alcohol Research UK website or directly through the Eventbrite page.
A Postgraduate and Early Career Symposium for 2016 is also being held the previous day on the 15 March 2016 also in Birmingham. This will showcase some of the best new research in the field, and culminate in an evening debate on the future of alcohol research at the internationally acclaimed Ikon Gallery. Both events can be booked here.
