Alcohol Research UK recently held its 2014 annual conference, 'Alcohol Through the Life Course'. The conference brought together some of the world’s leading experts on alcohol to discuss key research and policy issues in this area.
Speakers included Professor Tim Stockwell (University of Victoria Canada), author of over 200 papers on alcohol and advisor to the World Health Organisation. Professor Stockwell is also the world’s leading authority on the impact of minimum unit pricing on health in real-world contexts.
Also speaking, Professor Robin Room (University of Melbourne), author of over 30 books on alcohol and advisor to the World Health Organisation since 1975, and considered one of the most influential figures in global alcohol research and policy.

A number of Alcohol Research UK funded projects will be presented at the forthcoming New Directions in the Study of Alcohol Group 2014 conference, taking place in Dundee, Scotland from 23rd April to 26th April.
