The Home Office led 2010 drug strategy consultation closes this week on Thursday 30th September 2010. Though focused on illegal drugs, it asks for views in respect of alcohol, especially where a 'joint approach is appropriate, particularly around prevention, treatment and recovery'.
The consultation may prove particularly relevant for alcohol policy which is likely to be more closely integrated within drugs and public health agendas within the forthcoming changes. These are expected to be outlined within the public health white paper due at the end of the year and the revised drug strategy to follow.
Consultation is also open on the NHS commissioning reform which closes shortly on the 11th October 2010.
