A new simplified online applications process is being planned to help pubs, sports clubs and voluntary organisations make applications for licences entirely online. Consultation on the proposals is currently underway from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), who claim the 'online applications will make the licensing process quicker and easier, and could save businesses and voluntary organisations up to £1.5 million per year.'
See this consultation page on the DCMS website for all relevant consultation documents. See here for the DCMS press release.
Closing date for responses is 13 November 2009.
