EUROCARE (The European Alcohol Policy Alliance) is seeking to recruit a policy officer for its office in Brussels. Eurocare is an alliance of some 50 voluntary organisations working on the prevention and reduction of alcohol related harm in Europe. Member organisations are involved in research and advocacy as well as treatment and education programs. The role of the position will include:

• Monitoring and informing members of relevant developments in EU Institutions and in Member States
• Building relations with EU policy makers and other relevant organisations
• Drafting position papers, press releases and policy briefings as required
• Contributing to newsletter and website
• Preparing and organising meetings and events
• Representing the Organisation in meetings

Project Officer: Data sharing in A&E

The London Regional Public Health Group are now advertising for the position of Project Officer: Data sharing in A&E. The key function of the role is to take forward a programme of activities with the NHS to reduce alcohol related hospital admissions. Alcohol Strategy Development Officer, Camden

Camden PCT is recruiting a Band 7 Alcohol Strategy Development Officer to replace Charlotte Blencowe, who is off to be Public Health Strategist in the PCT with a lead for alcohol.  The ad says:

You will need a sound understanding of the problems caused by alcohol and of the wider policy context. Three alcohol Health Promotion Speciailists are to be recruited in the London Borough of Camden to deliver improvements in health and the reduction of inequalities relating to alcohol misuse.
