Safe.Sensible.Social local alcohol strategy toolkit published

Subscribers and regular readers of Alcohol Policy UK may have noticed that the site hasn't been updated very frequently over the last couple of months, despite there being lots happening.  It's because I've been just too busy with the day job.

But one of the major pieces of work I've been involved with has now finished, with the publication last night of the Home Office/Dept of Health/Dept for Children Schools and Families Local Alcohol Strategy Implementation Toolkit

This toolkit is a resource to help local teams develop strategies to address alcohol-related crime, ill health and other harm in line with Safe, Sensible, Social. The next steps in the National Alcohol Strategy. It has been written specifically to help alcohol leads and others within local authorities, primary care trust (PCTs), children's services and delivery partnerships such as Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) and Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (DAATs) - the people most likely to be responsible for developing and delivering alcohol strategies locally. It will also be useful to individual agencies tackling alcohol misuse.

I was the lead author; hope you find the toolkit useful.  And now, normal service will be resumed at Alcohol Policy UK, with daily updates and the weekly newsletter.  See the Subscribe panel on the right for different ways to receive updates.
